This workshop reviews three key study skills for university students: presenting, reading and writing in English. We begin with brief presentations of ourselves in English, focusing on our fields of study and why we chose them. Next we briefly reflect on how we read and how reading in a foreign language presents special challenges. Then we consider strategies for improving comprehension and speed when reading academic texts in English, and practice reading. We finish by using the texts that we read for practice as the basis for a discussion of academic writing and the importance of scientific standards.
